About CricTakkar
Cricket. Quiz. Battle. — "Aao CricTakkar karte hain."
CricTakkar is a free cricket quiz and trivia platform built for Indian cricket fans. You can test your knowledge in quizzes across the IPL, Test cricket, ODIs and T20Is, guess the mystery cricketer in Cricket Wordle, rank players against the record books, solve cricket crosswords, read cricket poetry, and take on friends in real-time multiplayer battles and tournaments. Everyone who plays is a Takkarbaaz — someone who takes on the Takkar, the clash.
Why we built it
Cricket is more than a scoreboard in India — it's arguments with friends, family WhatsApp groups, and facts you've known since you were ten. We wanted a place where that knowledge actually counts: where "who has the most Test runs?" or "which bowler took 10 in an innings?" becomes a game you can play alone or against your friends, with a leaderboard and a streak to keep you coming back.
How we keep the facts right
A trivia site is only as good as its facts, so accuracy is the one thing we are strict about. Every quiz question, Wordle player, "On This Day" event and record on CricTakkar is checked against multiple independent sources — ESPNcricinfo, Wikipedia and the ICC's own records, plus the relevant cricket board's website where it applies — before it goes in. If sources disagree, the item is held back or dropped rather than guessed. Records that can change over time are written around the specific year, or only use players who have retired, so an answer doesn't quietly go stale. If you ever spot something wrong, every game has a "Report a Problem" button, and each report is read by a real person.

Free, and staying that way
All gameplay on CricTakkar is free. There are no cash prizes, no entry fees, and nothing you pay for in order to win anything — CricTakkar is a game of knowledge, not a betting or fantasy-money platform. We plan to cover running costs through advertising, brand sponsorships and, later, an optional ad-free Premium plan. You can read exactly how your data is handled in our Privacy Policy.
Who runs it
CricTakkar is built and run by its founder, Yojak Vyas, from Maharashtra, India, with a lot of help from friends who kept testing and telling us what was broken.
